Boxed Handkerchiefs - Set of Four
Boxed Handkerchiefs - Set of Four
Based on an antique original set of boxed Handkerchiefs found in the Grovian Doll Museum collection, we understand that such handkerchiefs originally came in the pages of La Poupée Modèle, a 19th-century French periodical for children, as well as in boxed sets such as the one shown here.
It was intended that the child would embroider the shaped edges and printed details, and then cut the hankies out for use by their dolls. Our version offers two red and two blue printed hankies, presented in a lace-edged box, and featuring a label on the lid that is edged in sumptuous Dresden paper. Perfect for display with your fashion dolls, and bebes, the hankies are of high quality cotton poplin, with colorfast printed designs.
Each handkerchief measures approximately: 3 1/4“ square
Box measures: 3 5/8” square x 1 1/8” tall
