Adelina Underpinnings Kit by Jeffrey Cook
Adelina Underpinnings Kit by Jeffrey Cook
As an exclusive for the Carmel Doll Shop Boutique, and an essential part of an historically accurate trousseau, Jeffrey Cook of Maison Jeffrey, has created a complete set of period accurate 1840’s underpinnings for our lovely “Adelina,” Carl Armstrong’s exclusive KPM reproduction doll for the Boutique.
The patterns and materials are available for your sewing pleasure in a complete kit which includes a full-color, paper pattern with full instructions and all of the materials needed to create the ensemble. To create the unique silhouette of the period, the set includes materials and patterns for the following:
Chemise, pantalettes, and petticoat: Includes lengths of fine, snow white cotton batiste, cotton lace trim, three tiny mother of pearl buttons as well as a full sized spool of German made Gutterman thread, in white.
Corset: Includes lengths of finely ribbed cream cotton, nut-brown glazed cotton, and stiff cotton tarlatan. Also included are a small spool of cream sewing thread, Rigiline boning, and a length of cream cotton lacing cord.
Crinoline: Includes lengths of fine, snow white cotton organdy, stiff cotton tartalan, “horsehair” banding, cotton tape and a small card of cardinal red embroidery floss.
This helpful, user friendly kit offers interesting insights on 1840’s clothing, useful online links to tutorials on stitches and techniques and beautifully curated materials.
