As an exclusive for the Carmel Doll Shop Boutique, Jeffrey Cook of Maison Jeffrey has created a period accurate 1840’s costume for our dear “Adelina,” Carl Armstrong’s exclusive KPM reproduction china lady. Created from plaid, silk taffeta in shades of fawn brown, cream, green and orange, this two-piece costume features a fitted bodice, long fitted sleeves with a bell cuff detail at the elbow, and a wonderfully full, pleated skirt. The wide collar and sleeves are embellished with fringe and narrow, fawn brown ribbon. Adelina wears a bonnet composed of brown polished cotton, and embellished with a length of fringed plaid, plaid trim and brown velvet ribbons . The bonnet is lined with a pale nectarine hued, quilted silk that will bring a smile to your face as well as Adelina’s!
