This stunning ensemble, created for our exclusive Georgian Wooden dolls, “Belinda Noble” and “Dido Washington,” is comprised of fine cotton in a warm fawn hue with vivid, satin finish scarlet stripes. The fitted bodice features a delicately seamed back, and a squared “court” style skirt, edged in ruffles. The elbow length sleeves terminate in a flounced cuff lined in fine crocheted lace and embellished with scarlet silk ribbon. A full petticoat matches the squared court shape of the gown and is embellished with scarlet silk bows along the ruffled hem. Sewn of multiple layers of fabric creating a firm texture, the stomacher is overlaid with scarlet satin striped fabric and embellished with a scarlet silk bow at the bust. A beribboned mob cap in sheer, striped scarlet silk completes the period accurate look.
