*Pre-order* "Strathmore Hall" an Ensemble Kit for a Georgian Wooden
This stunning 1760’s George II style silk sacque gown, created for our exclusive Georgian Wooden artist dolls “Belinda Noble” and “Dido Washington,” is comprised of extremely fine, cream silk taffeta with sprigged floral embroidery in rich hues of red, blue, green and yellow. The gown features a lavishly pleated sacque back, squared court style skirt, and elbow length sleeves with rows of bell shaped flounces at the cuff, and a frothy lace lining. Silk taffeta ruffles on a background of white lace embellish the gown opening and terminate into two medallions at the front of the skirt. The petticoat matches the squared court shape of the gown. The stomacher is sewn of multiple layers of silk, creating a firm texture, and is overlaid with heavily embroidered silk taffeta and embellished at the bust with gathered lace and a cream silk ribbon rosette (stomacher attaches with two silk loops.)
For your sewing pleasure, we have created a complete kit which includes everything needed to create the ensemble: a paper pattern, full instructions with helpful tips and historic details, and expertly curated materials.
