*Pre-order* "Governor’s Palace" Ensemble Kit for Belinda by Sheryl Williams
A young lady of means in the early to mid-18th century would wear a costume consisting of a petticoat, gown and a hat or head covering. This stunning ensemble, created for our exclusive Georgian Wooden artist dolls “Belinda Noble” and “Dido Washington,” is comprised of berry hued silk jacquard featuring a delicate floral motif. Trimmings include pinked, ruffled silk, embroidered rosettes, metallic edging and silk ribbon. The fitted bodice features a delicately seamed back, squared “court” style skirt, and fitted elbow length sleeves with a flounced cuff lined in delicate lace. The petticoat, in solid silk in a rich berry color, matches the squared court shape of the gown. The stomacher is sewn of multiple layers of fabric, creating a firm texture, and is overlaid with velvet and embellished with delicate metalic trim and a silk bow at the bust. A hair ornament of gracefully curled mauve feathers adds the perfect touch to this gorgeous, period accurate look.
For your sewing pleasure, we have created a complete kit which includes everything needed to create the ensemble: a paper pattern, full instructions with helpful tips and historic details, and expertly curated materials.
