Based on the rare and exquisite French-made Dehors dolls of the 1860’s, Édouard is made exclusively for the Carmel Doll Shop Boutique by esteemed doll artist Carl Armstrong.
The only true example of this rare mold available to the marketplace, this dashing Monsieur features an oval-shaped swivel head on a finely molded and highlighted kid-edged shoulder plate exposing the gently muscular edge of his chest. He features gorgeous bisque with fine molding and painting including ruddy cheeks and tinted lips in a handsome, closed mouth smile. His expertly painted facial hair includes a mustache and goatee. His almond-shaped eyes feature even eyecuts with expressive blue spiral threaded eyes framed with thick lashes and arched brows. His antique skin wig in a rich brunette shade, is hand crafted by our in house artisans and features thick sideburns (each wig is one of a kind and presents slight variations.)
He is on a masterfully sewn kid body with shapely bisque lower arms and legs edged in scalloped kid; one arm is gracefully bent while the other arm is held at his side. His hands feature individual fingers and highlighted nail beds and his sculptural quality lower legs feature wonderful molding and painting and molded boot style feet.
