"Cornflower" Cotton-064
"Cornflower" Cotton-064
A new acquisition in our fabric lineup, “Cornflower,” is a charming vintage cotton. This lovely, lightweight fabric features a plaid pattern of vari-hued blues and black stripes against a white background. Texture was introduced in the form of a seersucker-like stripe.
This is one of those fabrics that begs to be fashioned into an enfantine era dress just as couturier Jeffrey Cook of Maison Jeffrey has done with the sample dress illustrated here. Jeffrey utilized the talented Sheryl Williams’ “Floral Border Print Dress” pattern to create this classic Huret/Rohmer fashion. Jeffrey trimmed the dress with 1.5 yards of Trim #71 - (double-loop picot trim) and black cotton piping which was created from items that he had on hand. The charming snood was also created from leftover bits and pieces including a length of black silk ribbon.
Trim #71 can be found here on the Boutique site.
