"Cherry Blossom" Cotton-063
"Cherry Blossom" Cotton-063
A new acquisition in our fabric lineup, “Cherry Blossom,” is a charming vintage cotton. This lovely, lightweight fabric features a plaid pattern of candy pink, light pink and black stripes against a white background. Texture was introduced in the form of a seersucker-like stripe.
This is one of those fabrics that begs to be fashioned into an enfantine era dress just as couturier Jeffrey Cook of Maison Jeffrey has done with the sample dress illustrated here. Jeffrey utilized the talented Denise Buese’s “Cotillion” pattern to create this confection. Some of the garment’s edges are bound with Jumeau Pink Silk Ribbon, then trimmed with 2 yards of Lace #12. This treatment can also be found at the neckline.
10” of Lace #6 was wrapped around the waistband which is also edged with Jumeau Pink Silk Ribbon. Roses #21 were used in creating the floral headdress. All of these trimming components can be found here on the Boutique site.
